Nergy - Burleigh Solar-0433.jpg

Having installed hundreds of solar systems across South East Queensland, we've seen firsthand what happens when homeowners choose the cheapest quote. Undersized systems, budget inverters that fail in 3 years, and installers who disappear, leaving families facing the same $10,000+ decision all over again.

That's why we only use tier-1 panels and premium inverters, size every system to actual usage, and back it all with proper warranties. Do it once. Do it right.

What Most Solar Companies Won't Tell You

Not all solar installations are equal. Cutting corners on equipment, design, or installation leads to underperformance and costly problems down the road. Here's what we do differently.

Common Mistakes We See

Undersized systems that don't cover your usage

Cheap inverters that fail within 3–5 years

Poor roof assessments leading to shading issues

No consideration for future battery readiness

Keep the Lights On. Even When the Grid Goes Down

A battery lets you store the solar energy you generate during the day and use it at night, reducing your reliance on the grid to almost zero. It also provides backup power during outages.

Recommended for homes with high night time power usage or homes susceptible to blackouts.

Blackout Protection

Keep your fridge, lights, and essentials running when the power goes out. No generator needed.

Maximise Self-Consumption

Use up to 90% of the solar energy you generate instead of exporting it at low feed-in rates.

Time-of-Use Savings

Avoid expensive peak electricity rates by using stored solar energy during high-tariff periods.

Solar Calculator FAQs

Solar can have a lot of nuance and we're here to help clear this up and help you make the best decision for your home setup.

How does the solar calculator work?

Our calculator uses your quarterly electricity bill to estimate your daily energy usage. Based on this, it recommends the right solar system size for your home, estimates how much you could save per year, and shows pricing including the current STC government rebate.

What size solar system do I need?

Most Australian homes need between 6.6kW and 13kW depending on their electricity usage. A household spending $400–$600 per quarter typically suits a 6.6kW system, while larger homes or those with pools, air conditioning, or electric vehicles may need 10kW–13kW. Of course the easiest way to know is by using our solar calculator above.

How much does a solar system cost in Queensland?

After the government rebate (STC scheme), a quality 6.6kW solar system starts from around $4,300 fully installed. Larger systems and battery storage cost more. Our calculator gives you an instant estimate based on your usage.

How much can I save with solar?

Most households in South East Queensland save between $1,200 and $2,800 per year on electricity bills depending on their system size and energy usage. Adding a battery can increase savings further by reducing how much grid power you use at night.

What is the government solar rebate?

The Small-scale Technology Certificate (STC) scheme provides an upfront discount on solar installations. The rebate reduces each year and is scheduled to phase out completely by 2030. Installing sooner means a larger rebate.
